Postpartum Planning Session

2 hour Planning Session | $350 | via Zoom

When planning for a baby it is becoming more clear creating a map for postpartum is as essential as planning for birth. The foundations of our parenting journey is shaped by the early days. Whether we called out for support or were offered support, and if we felt nourished during that time, it all adds up. They say the first 40 days shape the next 40 years after birth. The elements we can influence are our homes, the people we surround ourselves around and how we approach the early days after birth.

Traditionally we would have family close by including parents, aunts, cousins, grandparents, and neighbours who were like kin knowing exactly how to support new parents. These days we live life differently where we have to put intention into relationships and build on them for reliable support. In the West we are relearning and sharing what it is to be nourished and to support parents. This session is great during pregnancy for feeling confident and calm with an actionable plan to organise your village and resources to draw on for when babe is earth side.

We will walk through:

  • What is possible in postpartum

  • How traditional care can be woven into modern life

  • Explore your dreams and fears

  • Identify any parenting/parent identity concerns

  • How to build a village with what you've got and manage visitors

  • How to ask for help and not feel awkward about it

  • Streamline elements of your life for a simple and slow postpartum

  • How I can support you and your family

And more...

"For our Postpartum Planning Session we filled out some questions and had a video consult with Shaadeh. We both found this process valuable as the questions kickstarted our thinking about what kind of support we might want and/or need Postpartum. Life was so busy prior to baby arriving, I don't think we had really sat down together and considered what our needs together and individually might be. This session solidified this for us, and it was also lovely to have an informal chat with Shaadeh prior to her coming to our home. Perhaps most valuable was discussing our expectations for the sessions together, so that we knew what Shaadeh would be able to provide."
